How To Live Beautifully
Have you ever wondered what truly makes life beautiful?
Is it the warmth of a lover's touch, the gentle squeeze of their hand as you hold each other close?
Could it be the first rays of sunlight that kiss your face, bringing with them the promise of a new day?
And can there still be beauty, even in the ugliest of circumstances or situations?
They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but what does that really mean?
For a long time, I’ve always wondered if life can actually be beautiful.
In a world where family conflicts can test our bonds, where social media presents a million reasons why our life isn’t perfect, it becomes increasingly challenging to experience the beauty in our everyday lives.
I’m sure that the majority of us have heard of the saying that life is suffering, but life can also be beautiful.
The Law of Polarity
We live in a world of polarity.
As human beings, we have the capability to experience a spectrum of opposing forces such as misery and peace, love and hatred, life and death.
It is a natural part of reality where everything is dual.
This is how balance is maintained.
The amazing part about this is that in embracing this duality, we always have the choice to shift our focus and perspective on what can serve us.
However, us humans have a tendency to solely focus on the aspects of reality which harm us.
This tendency can be traced back to our survival instincts which kept us safe from potential threats such as saber tooth tigers.
The Power of Choice
In this day and age, we have a natural inclination to suffer and react immediately when we experience road rage, lose our keys or any sort of daily challenge.
I was once guilty of this.
I was constantly complaining, easily reactive, stressed out and my mind would find any reason to keep me in a cycle of negativity.
My mind habitually sought reasons to immerse itself in negativity, until at one point I decided that enough is enough.
I decide now to live in a beautiful state, every day, no matter what.
This switch to work on my mindset and my state of being has completely improved the quality of my life.
How this translates is being able to respond to situations as opposed to react to them.
I feel more present, peaceful and grateful even in the face of opposition.
This is not to say that I suppress my emotions when a problem does arise but rather, making the deliberate choice to completely honor and process how I feel then shifting my focus to find the good in these different situations.
Beauty is subjective and can be defined in countless ways.
Yet, there's a universal principle of beauty we can all agree on: when we perceive something as beautiful, our minds associate that event, person, place, or thing with a sense of satisfaction and pleasure that resonates within our senses and our hearts.
Now Imagine how much life could transform if you decided to live beautifully.
To live a life where we traded ceaseless complaining for complimenting, expectations for appreciation and suffering for beauty.
All I could say in my experience is that life truly is beautiful, when you decide it is so.
Principles For a Beautiful Life
So how do we transform our lives and embrace the beauty that's always there, even in the midst of chaos and challenges?
Well, the answer lies in these three simple yet profound principles:
Appreciate, Learn, and Love.
1. Appreciate and Enjoy.
The first key to living life beautifully is to trade expectations for appreciation and to enjoy the present moment.
it's easy to overlook the beauty in the rush of daily life so take a deep breath, pause, and look around.
Find something to appreciate in this very moment.
It could be the smile of a loved one, the taste of your favorite food, or the beauty of nature.
When we learn to appreciate and savor the little things, we start to see the beauty that surrounds us every day.
2. Learn and Grow.
The second principle is to learn and grow from every experience.
Life is a journey of constant growth and evolution.
Instead of seeing challenges as setbacks, view them as opportunities for growth.
Every obstacle is a chance to learn something new about yourself and the world.
Embrace the lessons life offers, and you'll find that even in adversity, there's a hidden beauty in the process of becoming a better version of yourself.
3. Love, Give, and Practice Gratitude.
The third principle is perhaps the most powerful:
love, give, and practice gratitude.
Love not only those close to you but also extend your love to the world around you.
Giving, whether it's your time, kindness, or resources, can bring immense joy and fulfillment.
Don't forget gratitude.
When you cultivate a grateful heart, you shift your focus from what's lacking to what you already have.
It's in this practice of gratitude that you'll discover the profound beauty of contentment and abundance.
By embracing these three principles—appreciating and enjoying the present, learning and growing from every experience, and loving, giving, and practicing gratitude—you can end the cycle of suffering and truly live life beautifully.
It's not about denying the challenges or difficulties, but rather, it's about choosing how you respond to them.
So, let's make a conscious decision to live beautifully every day, to see the world through the lens of appreciation, growth, and love.
When we do this, we unlock the hidden beauty in every moment, and life becomes a canvas of endless possibilities.
In conclusion, life is not just suffering; it is also a canvas waiting for us to paint it with our own unique colors of appreciation, growth, and love.
The choice is yours.
Will you continue to focus on what brings you down, or will you choose to see the beauty that has always been there, just waiting to be discovered?
Love,
Clarity.
